FAQ About SkyJump, Auckland
| How can I find SkyJUMP HQ? |
Basically look up, spot the big needle looking building and bound towards it! If you need a physical address for the lovely lady on the GPS then try the cornor of Federal and Victoria Streets, Auckland.
Once you reach the Sky Tower, take the escalators DOWN to check in at our batcave aka 'Mission Control', located underground in the base of the Sky Tower.

| How safe is SkyJump? IS IT SCARY?? |
Feeling a little nervous are we?? ... Well this is one thing you don't have to worry about! SkyJump is OSH approved and very rigorous safety standards are upheld. SkyJump is an adventure activity with a very low real risk but very high perceived risk, so as the saying goes - it's mind over matter!
Is it scary? ... Um I'm going to say yes! You are, after all, jumping off a perfectly good tower to fall 192 metres towards the ground, so yes, it is scary but that's the point really isn't it? |
| Are there any limitations or restrictions to the SkyJump experience? |
|
• The maximum weight limit is 122kgs.
• There is a minimum age of 10, but no maximum age - in fact our oldest jumper to date is an 91 year old woman!!
• People with heart problems should consult their physician.
• Pregnant women are unable to partake in SkyJump for the health and safety of you and your unborn child.

| WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? |
It’s not the red carpet so you can leave your number ones at home, nappies are optional …!
Comfortable clothing and lace up shoes is all you need, we supply you with and kit you up in the custom SkyJump flying suit and full body harness. As much as you’ll look like a superhero you won’t have any superhuman strength/spidey toes to hold on loose-fitting footwear and we don’t want to see your jandals flying over Auckland city or hitting innocent pedestrians so …… if you do happen to forget your lace up shoes we do have some spare ones you can borrow, obviously not the crews, we need them. |
| IS THERE A SECURE PLACE TO PUT MY PERSONAL ITEMS WHILE I JUMP? |
| There sure is, each jumper will have access to their own personal locker in which we get you to dump everything out of your pockets, including coins and any loose items (yes this includes cameras, jewellery and the occasional tissue). No need to bring the will, you can leave that one in your safe deposit box …. |
| HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHERE CAN MY SUPPORT CREW WATCH FROM? |
From check-in at Mission Control to waving goodbye to our crew with an adrenaline fuelled grin from ear to ear, the SkyJump experience takes around 30-45 minutes. Those that encounter nerves on the ledge, 192 metres up, may take a little longer!
Your friends and family are more than welcome to come along to watch you as you complete your SkyJump. We’ll take them out to our landing platform for no charge where they can watch you glide down and land gracefully on your feet …. Or not so gracefully. A live feed of the view up the top and our crew will keep them informed of your progress. |
| CAN I GET PROOF? |
| We have a photo and USB package available for purchase after your jump. Our SkyJump Masters will attach a GoPro camera to your wrist before heading out on the SkyJump Platform 192 metres up that records your jump from start to finish. It’s really up to you what you wish to record your face as you jump off a perfectly good tower, the stunning views or choose just to forget about it and fling your arms out in sheer joy to get a mixture of the two. The video also has sound so maybe keep that in mind if you want children to relive the SkyJump with you!! The photos consist of a shot on the platform of you with a super fake confident grin, and one mid-air at the beginning of your jump. The price for the USB package is $65 (all digital photos and movie file on the USB plus your two printed photos). If you just wish to purchase your two printed photos then we have this available for $30. |
| WHAT IF ONCE ISN’T ENOUGH? |
| Once is never enough! If you bring back your certificate for the SkyJump then you can relive the adrenaline rush for only 75 bucks … and by that we mean $75 NZ dollars not 75 male antlered animals! Or you can always purchase the USB package with the GoPro footage of your SkyJump and relive it again and again in the comfort of your own home. |
| WHAT IF I CHICKEN OUT AFTER I’VE PAID? |
| You’ll have to come down the tower in the lift to meet your support crew who may or may not have purchased you a chicken t-shirt! Hey, it happens…. but not that often as we don’t offer refunds. Instead you’ll receive a politically correct Non-Jumper voucher which allows you to try the jump one more time in the next 6 months but if you’re totally freaked out you can transfer the voucher to another lucky person... perhaps the one making the loudest chicken noises! |
| WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATING DAYS/TIMES AND WHATS THE DEAL WITH WEATHER? |
SkyJump is open from 10.00am to 5.15pm every day of the year (wind and weather permitting), except Christmas Day, December 25th … yes, even legends like us need a day off!
If it’s blowing a gale out there (over 70km/hr) or other extreme weather, then the SkyJump does not operate. Fortunately this doesn’t happen often and a little wind is great for those wanting to add a little more thrill to the experience. |
| CAN YOU GIVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE JUMP MASTER? |
| Ummmm I’m going to go with no on this one, but check out our staff profiles on our Facebook page!! |
| DO I GET A DISCOUNT IF I DO SKYWALK AS WELL? |
Shh, only if you use the secret password ….. Look n Leap. We have a combo deal for those daredevils willing to take on a double whammy challenge. To do both the SkyWalk and SkyJump it will take about 2 hours to complete and set you back $290 NZD.
For those not in the know the SkyWalk is a walk on a 1.2 metre wide walkway around Auckland’s famous Sky Tower – sounds easy right? Well just to add to this casual stroll you are 192 metres above the ground with no handrails and nothing but air on either side of you! A harness and overhead railing prevent SkyWalkers from swinging off the edge whilst enjoying spectacular views of Auckland as a guide points out the city’s famous landmarks.
